As a Chairman and head of Indian Academy of Acupressure Science, Dr. Sudhir Khetawat for his national and splendid contributions, of a comprehensive nature in promoting ancient Indian art of ‘Acupressure & Hypnosis’ for last 27 years, his contributions and dedicated hard efforts have profoundly benefited the suffering and ailing humanity, also earned him several laurels from various quarters; A highly brilliant and academically very proficient man, has very comprehensively acquired several high professional qualifications, he is BSc, MA (Psychology), Ph.D. (Shrilanka), D.Hy., D.Ac., FICA (USA), MIP (Australia), DSC,  MD (AM), etc  ; His name to be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records, besides Gold Medal Honour Merit, Acupressure Ratna, Gem of Alternative Medicine, Calcutta, etc.; He is Visiting Professor to various International Universities, he is also Chairman of Deaf & Dumb Research Center, and President of Institute of Holistic Medicine and Hypnotherapy Research Center . Furthering his contributions has presented 100 Research papers in National/International Conferences, has also authored several books and articles, published in national & international newspapers and magazines.

Acupressure (Samvedna) our ancient Indian art in recent years has gained wide acceptance among the people as an alternative therapy to the medicinal treatment. The human body possesses self curative forces to fight diseases and the role of Acupressure is to assist the body in restoring the balance and to strengthen the inbuilt defense mechanism.

Today 80% patients are suffering from Psychosomatic ailments. In majority of cases stress factor is not taken into account while offering a particular treatment. When one particular symptom is treated, stress influences other organs of the body and the symptoms are shifted. Doctor and patient think that this a different disease but infect the root cause is the same unchecked stress factor. Therefore, patients facing any type of tensions can achieve benefit from relaxation practice. Relaxation is a general and a non specific antidote for stress factor.

Acupressure suits India the best as it involves no money and machinery and the results are marvelous in many incurable diseases. It is high time that the government recognize the importance of this therapy and make efforts for its development. I am happy to receive more than fifty messages including from several heads of the states praising the role of Acupressure -- a drugless method of treatment for incurable ailments. We are working toward providing health care to all in the new millennium with natural and cheaper way.
